Frappe cheap and good at home

How many times have you thought about this pandemic? What good would a frappe be, but I don't know how to do it? Many times that I suffered the same, only my problem was that I didn't have a blender, until I said that I would take the one from my mother because she still doesn't use it and it was mine anyway. So, after your votes on the Instagram story, today I'm telling you how to make an extra good frappe at home because it's cheaper per piece than if you go to the cafe almost every day.

Now, frappe is not just iced coffee and some cream, it's a little coffee, ice, ice cream and cream if you want, no, not everyone is a cream fan. Now the thing is that you kind of need a blender for that, so if you don't have one yet, you can find a blender on almost any site and under 100 lei. I know it's from Flanco and it was only about 70 or 80 about four years ago, but it's true, it has too small blades and it doesn't know how to cut fruit or ice. I'm not sure what he can do.

Ingredients (one serving)

  • 150-200 ml milk
  • about 2 tablespoons of ice cream (chocolate / vanilla / mocha / caramel etc)
  • an espresso
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • optional chocolate / caramel sauce
  • cream optional
  • chocolate flakes optional

Preparation

If you're lucky enough to have a blender, woe to him, put the ice cubes in a bag and hold it tightly while pounding it with the hammer of the schnitzels to crush the ice enough so that the blender can crush it. It's stupid, but it works. Next, put the ice in the blender, the milk, the ice cream of your choice (but not even the strawberries that only coffee will no longer feel) and the espresso, then turn on the blender after you put the lid on. Do this quickly if it's still hot coffee. I can't wait to catch a cold, not another. From these, between 200 and 250 ml of frappe will come out somewhere, only good to put in a glass.

With the optional sauce you can do the following:

  • put a little in the composition for an extra taste
  • put it on the inside of the glass before pouring the composition to look good for a picture that then dissolves anyway
  • You put it over the cream

You can make the cream at home and put it with things like piping bags, or take the cream in a tube that disappears in a maximum of 5 minutes no matter how much you shake that tube. If this is the first time you have done this, turn the glass better than turning the tube by hand, as well as the sauce on the inside.

I tried to make it with salted caramel ice cream and it came out pretty mediocre, even though I like salted caramel. Now I bought Carte d & # 8217Or Triple Chocolate for 12 lei and I use it, but in cafes in general I saw that I use Mega ice cream with mocha flavor or any ice cream that says bourbon vanilla.

As for espresso, I don't know how to handle it if you don't have lazy people's espresso machines and other clever capsule machines. I have a Tassimo and I put espresso from Jacobs, but if I find out how to make espresso from a kettle, I'll be back. I think that if you put 40-50 ml of normal coffee you don't really feel its intensity, but that depends on how intense you want it to be. If, however, you put an espresso and you want it less intense, either increase the amount of milk or add a tablespoon of ice cream. It is important to keep room in the glass or cup and for the cream because it will melt.

From the above quantities come two small and nice frappes, only good to put in glasses of whiskey.

Star anise tea: properties + recipes

The winter holidays and the holidays are over, but we thought it would be nice to keep the Christmas atmosphere a little longer, so for today we offer you a special tea, prepared from a real jewel of nature: star anise.

Did you know that star anise is different from anise?

Both plants have the same name due to the similar smell, but unlike anise (Pimpinella anisum), the taste of star anise (Illicium verum) it is more intense and deep, but also sweeter.

Star anise is the fruit of a small to medium-sized perennial tree, which can reach 8 meters. As its name suggests, the fruit has an unusual star shape, with 5 to 10 tips, usually 8. Inside the reddish-brown pods are the seeds. Commercially, star anise is found as such or in powder form. Stored in dark places and protected from moisture, it can be stored for several years, but if it is ground it loses its flavor quite quickly.

Origins and consumption

Originally from China and Vietnam, star anise is one of the most beloved spices in the oriental world, giving flavor to both desserts and drinks, as well as savory dishes, including meat. It goes well with other spices such as cinnamon, cloves or ginger, with which it is often associated. Star anise is part of the famous Chinese mix of Five Spices, while in Indian cuisine it is found in the Garam Masala blend, as well as in the Chaala Masala. It is also a place of honor in Malaysian and Indonesian cuisines, but also in other Asian countries. Lately, it has even begun to be used in Europe, instead of plain anise, to flavor mulled wine, gingerbread or other traditional Christmas desserts.

Properties

Star anise contains a substance called anethole, the same that gives the aroma specific to simple anise, which has strong antimicrobial, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Therefore, due to its qualities, in addition to being a delicious spice, star anise is also used as a medicinal plant. It seems that in the past, in Asia, star anise fruit was chewed after meals, as a digestive and to freshen the breath - like a kind of mentholated candy.

Star anise is also used as a remedy against rheumatism, as well as as an adjunct in the treatment of colds, according to traditional Chinese medicine. It is an important source of shikimic acid, a precursor to oseltamivir, an antiviral drug. Used in isolation, it does not have a strong effect on immune function, but is particularly effective in combination with other substances, helping the body to better resist viral infections. Star anise is also known for its antioxidant properties, helping the body minimize the action of free radicals. It acts against headaches, but is also used to stimulate appetite.

Mint liqueur (homemade) recipe for natural liqueur without dye

Mint liqueur (homemade) recipe for natural liqueur without dye. How to make mint liqueur without boiling, prepared cold? Fine liqueur without brandy, brandy or brandy. Mentholated liqueur very refreshing and aromatic. Recipe for Peppermint Liquor or Pfefferminzlikor.

This mint liqueur is very comforting, fragrant and tasty if it is prepared with the head and quality ingredients are used. Of course, homemade liqueur will not have the color of the commercial one, which is much greener due to the dyes (as was the Arctic liqueur of the past). We did not put dyes so our liqueur has a natural color due to the oxidation process of green mint leaves. I used a delicious personal recipe to prepare this mint liqueur.

In Arad we have a long tradition in the preparation of mint liqueur but also of other fine drinks. The Spirit and Yeast Factory from Arad (now Indagrara) founded in 1851 by Adolf Neuman was the most modern factory of the time in Southeast Europe. Next to it there was a mill, as well as a pig farm. The factory and the mill were transformed into a joint-stock company in 1922, remaining in the ownership of the Neuman family until its nationalization in 1948. The facilities remained operational for over a hundred years, being dismantled, unfortunately, after 1990. (source)

Arad only has to thank the Neuman family whose members were, practically, the founders of the Arad industry from the time of the Empire. They were great lovers of Arad, of sports, the construction of the UTA ARAD stadium (in just a few months!) Belonging to the textile factory (ITA-Intreprinderea Textilă Arad, later Uzina Textilă Arad), which was also built, was linked to the name of Baron Francisc von Neuman. put into use in the middle of the war in 1945. Unfortunately the stadium was demolished and even after 6 years it still shows no signs of being ready, although apparently it is still being worked on & # 8230

What alcohol is used for a fine homemade liqueur?

My mint liqueur is not a mint tea (ie a stew) mixed with a stinky brandy (called "brandy")! I don't want to drink that at all. We don't boil cherries, cherries or raspberries when we want to make liqueur. Here mint must be the "main character" and not the various undefined fruits of which some make "brandy, brandy or brandy". Here we are not talking about the authentic plum brandy or the clean brandy of pears, apricots or cherries that have over 55 ° even up to 60 °. These are not spoiled by a healthy person in order to make liqueur out of them. & # 8230 Wrong! Fine liqueurs are made with double refined alcohol or vodka because these two are neutral in terms of smell and do not interfere with the main ingredient: mint, raspberries, cherries, sour cherries, quinces, etc. & # 8211 I leave the recipes at the end. Vodka and commercially refined double alcohol are made from cereals or potatoes, so they are also natural.

This mint liqueur is prepared cold with green (fresh) garden mint leaves soaked in odorless alcohol and then sweetened. Since mint is not as juicy as fruit and does not leave water, I had to make a sugar syrup that reduces the degrees of alcohol. A liqueur has between 22-30 ° and these must be obtained by lowering from 38 ° of vodka or 96 ° of double refined alcohol. You will see below how to proceed.

I also made mint syrup last year & # 8211 very fragrant and tasty & # 8211 the recipe here.

From the ingredients below it results approx. 500 ml of mint liqueur.

Greek version of steak for lamb

Ingredients for lamb marinade

juice of 2 lemons • 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) of olive oil • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped • 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme • 2 teaspoons of fresh, chopped oregano • 1 bay leaf • 1 teaspoon of salt large • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation for Greek lamb stew

In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well until you get a homogeneous composition. Use this marinade on all pieces of lamb.

The small pieces of lamb are marinated for 4-5 hours. Larger pieces, such as lamb's foot, should be marinated for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Squeeze the citrus in a few seconds

Do you make a cake and need a few drops of lemon juice? It's quite difficult to get the juicer out CITRUs for 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, but you can't even risk dropping pips in the composition. It is so simple to avoid both situations: with clean hands, use the dominant hand to squeeze the lemon or orange, and position the other hand immediately under the fruit, to act as a sieve. All the seeds will fall into your hands.

Recipe: Sweet-mentholated punch

Mint is one of the most beloved aromatic plants, appreciated for its fresh, refreshing scent and for its health benefits. It stimulates digestion, strengthens the immune system, cleanses the skin and is a mild analgesic, being used both in cosmetics and aromatherapy, as well as in the preparation of desserts and drinks.

Today we propose a recipe for menthol punch based on green tea, a very fragrant soft drink, perfect for a summer evening with family or a party with friends.

Menthol punch

  • 500 ml of hot water
  • 2 teaspoons green tea
  • 6 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 ml of cold water
  • 200 ml orange juice
  • 100 ml of lemon or lime juice
  • ice cubes
  • slices of orange and lemon for garnish

Put the tea leaves in a bowl, pour hot water (90 ° C) and let them infuse for about 2 minutes. If you want a stronger taste, use a larger amount of tea, avoid brewing for a longer period of time, because otherwise the tea will get a bitter taste.

Add the mint leaves and sugar, and then mix the orange and lemon juices. For more flavor, use freshly squeezed juice.

Allow the punch to cool and top up with cold water. We recommend serving it in a glass carafe, in which to put ice cubes and fruit slices. You will get a tasty drink with an appetizing appearance, in pleasant colors, which matches perfectly with a relaxing evening with your loved ones.

Bridge: If you like exotic combinations, add a few slices of pineapple.

The good part about this recipe is that you can play with the amount of fruit juices, so you get a punch exactly to your taste!

Cardamon & # 8211 benefits and properties

Cardamom contains chemicals that could treat intestinal spasms, kill some bacteria, reduce swelling and help the immune system.

Cardamom seeds

Antibacterial effect

Cardamom has antibacterial effects and can treat infections.

Research shows that cardamom extracts and essential oils have compounds that fight several common strains of bacteria.

A laboratory study examined the impact of these extracts on drug-resistant strains of Candida, a fungus that can cause fungal infections. The extracts were able to inhibit the growth of some Candida strains.

Other studies have shown that essential oils and cardamom extracts have been effective against E. coli and Staphylococcus, bacteria that can cause food poisoning.

Maintains the health of the digestive tract

Cardamom has been used for thousands of years to aid digestion. It is often mixed with other medicinal spices to relieve discomfort, nausea and vomiting.

The most researched property of cardamom, because it relates to the relief of stomach problems, is its possible ability to cure ulcers.

In one study, rats were fed extracts of cardamom, turmeric and seed leaves in hot water before being exposed to high doses of aspirin to induce gastric ulcers. These rats developed fewer ulcers compared to rats that received only aspirin without these spices.

A similar study in rats found that cardamom extract alone could prevent or completely reduce the size of gastric ulcer by at least 50%.

More research is needed to know if the spice would have the same effect against human ulcers.

Improves lung function and breathing

Cardamom essential oil

Cardamom compounds can help increase airflow to the lungs and improve breathing.

When used in aromatherapy, cardamom can provide an invigorating scent, which improves the body's ability to use oxygen.

One study asked a group of participants to inhale cardamom essential oil for one minute before walking on a treadmill for 15-minute intervals. This group had a significantly higher oxygen uptake compared to the control group.

Another way that cardamom can improve breathing and oxygen consumption is by relaxing the airways. This can be especially helpful in treating asthma.

Other benefits of cardamom

In addition to the benefits mentioned, cardamom can be good for other purposes:

  • Liver protection: Cardamom extract can lower high levels of liver enzymes, triglycerides and cholesterol. It can also prevent liver enlargement, which reduces the risk of liver disease
  • Anxiety: A study in rats suggests that cardamom extract may prevent anxious behaviors. This may be due to the fact that low levels of antioxidants in the blood have been linked to the development of anxiety and other mood disorders.
  • Weight Loss: A study of 80 overweight and obese prediabetic women found a link between cardamom and slightly reduced waist circumference.

Coffee frappé as in Greece

For Greeks and Cypriots, frappe is the symbol of summer. The favorite drink of the Greeks was accidentally invented by a Nescafe employee named Dimitris Vakondios. Legend has it that at a fair in Thessaloniki in 1957, Dimitri did not find hot water to make his instant coffee, so he improvised and mixed the coffee with cold water until it dissolved. The outcome? A creamy coffee full of foam.
